About Marijke
Marijke (1972) is Dutch, an entrepreneur, connector, organiser, mother and creative spirit. She loves the whole country of the Netherlands. She has lived in Gelderland, Groningen, Utrecht and Noord-Holland, and twice spent six months in Germany and Italy.
Both for work and privately, she travels all over the Netherlands.
She lived in Amsterdam for 22 years.
Marijke connects entrepreneurial women through her network Bites & Business, she organises many dinner parties at her home — including for expats — and she loves attending local events across the Netherlands.
She is interested in people and cultures, speaks 5 languages and loves to organise. She love to hear your story.

How does it work?
If you're interested in the excursions, you join the WhatsApp group "Op stap met Marijke". The calendar and details for each excursion are shared there. To sign up, you fill in the registration form.
We speak Dutch along the way — because you probably want to improve your Dutch — but English when needed.
Marijke always brings a snack. :-)
Example trips
Here are some examples of excursions:
- a local fair or flea market in a charming village
- a boat trip on the river Zaan
- an open-air theatre performance
- a special museum in North Holland
- a local winter market
- a flower auction
- a cycling tour through tulip fields
- a walk through a nature reserve that is normally closed to the public
- a trip to a very high sand dune with children
- a day trip with three highlights in Noord-Holland
- a cycling tour combined with a beer tasting
- a music festival in the provinces
Practical information
Costs vary per excursion and are listed with each event. Transport varies too — sometimes shared, sometimes by car, train or bike. If the trip is suitable for children, this is mentioned. Start and end times also vary and are always listed. A museumjaarkaart can sometimes come in handy. Excursions are usually at weekends, but sometimes on weekdays.
